THE PEOPLE’S GROUP

Please see below correspondence from the communications department at Ministry of Health received yesterday 7th April:

Kia ora koutou katoa,

This morning we were scheduled to run ‘The People’s Group’ – COVID-19 information and preparedness for disabled people, whānau and carers. Most regrettably, a significant technicality prevented the virtual meeting from taking place.
The problem has been addressed, and we would like to extend an invitation to you for the new date and time of Monday 11 April, 12 -1pm.

Please mark your diary and share the invitation with your networks.

About ‘The People’s Group’
These sessions will be convened especially for disabled people and their families, whānau, aiga and carers to provide the latest practical information and guidance on preparing and responding to COVID-19. The Ministry and guests will let you know what’s happening in the COVID-19 space relevant to disabled people and may seek your views from time to time.

The sessions are open to everyone. NZSL interpreters will attend whenever possible. Sessions will be recorded, and you are welcome to share the invitation or meeting recordings with your networks. In time we may look to publish session recordings online.

We will begin delivering sessions regularly over Microsoft Teams. Anyone can join a Teams meeting – no software or an MS Teams account is needed.

Happening alongside these sessions are meetings of disability sector leaders. Represented by senior members of the disability system, the Sector Leaders’ Group supports system-wide cooperation on COVID-19 system preparedness response on behalf of the disability community. You will hear about developments at these meetings, in our sessions together as The People’s group.
