More Virtual Parents’ Gatherings:

Family Network NZ & Complex Care Group invite you to our next virtual gatherings for parents

Both organisations are family led change agencies working for families who have a son or daughter with an intellectual disability and/or complex needs.

We know we won’t go back to the way life was before lock-down 2020 and we wonder what the ‘new normal’ will look like and the opportunities ahead of us to ‘create the new normal’.

At our next gatherings there will be a guest speaker from either the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education or Ministry of Social Development. 

Connecting Parents Virtually – via Zoom:

Zoom 2 – Thurs 14th May 11:30 to 1pm – Guest TBC – possibly Ministry of Education senior executive

Zoom 3 – Mon 18th May 1:30 to 3pm – Guest: Adri Isbister Deputy Director General Disability (from 1.30 till 2pm)

Zoom 4 Thurs 21st May 11:30 to 1pm – Guest TBC – possibly Ministry of Social Development senior executive to talk re the future post schooling sector

These Zoom calls will be a safe virtual meeting place to air our concerns and enjoy the company of fellow parents. As administrators we will ensure all who wish to speak have a chance to do so. We ask that all interactions on these Zoom calls be respectful of different opinions.

We have all spent two months in our ‘bubbles’ with little if any of the usual supports for our sons and daughters. Some of us have had to stand down staff and are only now letting them back in to provide support and a much-needed break.

We want to hear your voice and so that we can try to get some answers over the next few weeks it would be really helpful to know what your three top concerns are.

Either Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education or Ministry of Social Development senior executives will be at the next three Zoom meetings we have scheduled in this series.   As details come to hand they will be updated here and also on our Complex Care Group Facebook page.

You need to REGISTER by 5pm the day prior to the meeting (registering on the weekend is fine). After registration, you will receive an invitation for the meeting, including the link that will provide your connection to the meeting.
