Carers New Zealand is the national organisation providing support for all family whanau and aiga carers in New Zealand. It also provides the secretariat function for the Carers Alliance which is made up of 44 national organisations who have a specific interest in family carer’s issues. In 2008 AND 2014 the Carers Alliance partnered with the government to develop the Carers Strategy and Five year Action Plan. This is currently in the process of being updated. In mid 2019 you can expect that the draft developed for the 2019-2023 Carers Action Plan will be ready for consultation
