Carers New Zealand is the national organisation providing support for all family whanau and aiga carers in New Zealand. It also provides the secretariat function for the Carers Alliance which is made up of 44 national organisations who have a specific interest in family carer’s issues. In 2008 the Carers Alliance partnered with the government to develop the Carers Strategy and Five year Action Plan. This is currently in the process of being updated.
