Visable Child to Parent Violence and Abuse (CPVA) Survey for Professionals. Please promote so NZ can gather baseline info on CPVA.

Kia ora koutou,

We’re calling on professionals across Aotearoa New Zealand to lend your voice to an issue that’s often hidden, misunderstood, and rarely talked about: Child-to-Parent Violence and Abuse (CPVA).

CPVA involves children (whether under 18 or adult children) using violence or abusive behaviour toward parents, caregivers, grandparents, or siblings. Families experiencing CPVA often feel isolated, ashamed, and unsure where to turn.

Your professional experience can help change that.

Why Your Insights Matter

By completing this survey, you’ll help:

  • Shine a light on the real impact of CPVA on families and whānau
  • Identify service gaps and challenges frontline professionals face
  • Inform policy, training, and advocacy to strengthen responses
  • Contribute to a publicly available report that will support long-term change

Quick, Secure, Confidential

  • No personal information collected
  • Responses stored securely and accessed only by VisAble researchers
  • All reporting is fully de-identified

Survey Open: 2 March – 13 April 2026
