CARER SUPPORT CLAIM FORMS PROCESSING
The Ministry of Health Disability Support Services have been working hard to process a backlog of Carer Support claim forms. Processing staff have worked overtime and had a “Super-Saturday” working day to clear the backlog. Processing times are now sitting at 11 days – their Key Performance Indicator time is 10 days – so things have definitely improved.
Also, the flexible use of Carer Support (including paying a resident family member for respite) continues until the end of June and possibly beyond then (Ministry is still working to get agreement to extend this beyond June).
